Asahi’s new Dry Crystal sees lower ABV, calories and carbs

Asahi Super Dry has just launched a new innovative beer in Hong Kong and Taiwan.

Called Dry Crystal, this new refreshing beer sees three new “low” changes without compromising Asahi’s original taste. Already launched last year in Japan, Dry Crystal was created for those who love beer but don’t necessarily partake in drinking it due to their full and active life.

The three “lows” in Asahi Dry Crystal are a lower 3.5% ABV, 40% fewer calories, and 70% fewer carbs than Asahi Super Dry beer. “With consumer needs at the core of the business, Asahi Super Dry continuously explores new product offerings and innovations that tap into the latest trends and consumption occasions across different markets. Dry Crystal is the next generation under the Super Dry edition and was created to respond to a change in consumer attitudes – a growing consciousness about what they are eating and drinking. The new product is perfect for those who want to enjoy a beer and not miss out on social situations while also maintaining a lifestyle of moderation,” says Kinyi Choo, Managing Director, Asahi Beer Asia.

Each can of Asahi Dry Crystal sees just 3.5% ABV and only 25 kcal and 0.9g carbs per 100ml, and is achieved via a special hop called Polaris. This new product was launched with a new face for the new “Dry Crystal” generation. Enlisting the 40th Japan Academy Prize New Actor Award recipient, Kanna Hashimoto, the first advertisement is scored to Pharrell Williams’ “Happy” and features the actress as she goes through her active lifestyle while enjoying Asahi‘s low alcohol alternative.

*Must be of legal drinking age to consume. Drink responsibly.
