Don Julio’s finest: The Ultima Reserva debuts in Hong Kong

While Don Julio 1942 is often thought of as the king of the Don Julio range, Tequila Don Julio Ultima Reserva is the true pinnacle of what the luxury tequila distiller has to offer.

With limited availability in selected markets, the Tequila Don Julio Reserva officially makes its debut in Hong Kong this year, marking a major milestone in the brand’s commitment to sharing its rich heritage with connoisseurs in the region.

Don Julio Gonález began his tequila-making journey in 1942. Since then, he’s steadily perfected his craft to achieve the highest standard of quality, growing his eponymous brand into one of the most beloved tequila producers in his home country of Mexico and worldwide.

Tequila Don Julio Ultima Reserva is a special 36-month aged luxury Extra-Añejo derived from the final agave harvest planted by González and his family in 2006. Serving to preserve González’s ultimate legacy, the final harvest was carefully set aside for this special distillation. To preserve this tequila, Don Julio implemented the Solera aging method, maturing tequilas of different characteristics in oak barrels and Madeira wine casks.

The final product is found in an elegant glass bottle meticulously adorned with piña-inspired designs. Due to its limited nature, small quantities of cases will be released each year until the final agave harvest concludes.

Smooth and fragrant, Ultima Reserva gives notes of oak and caramel on the nose with fruity hints of apricot and orange. The finish is a honeyed agave.

Don Julio Ultima Reserva is now available online and at select retailers in Hong Kong.
