Rumah and The Cakery bring a burst of Indonesian flavour with Onde Onde collection

Get ready for a burst of Indonesian flavours with this collaboration between Rumah and The Cakery. Titled the Onde Onde collection, the two brands are working together to bring you three exclusive items inspired by the traditional Indonesian sweet.

Building on its first-anniversary special earlier this year, Rumah is working together with The Cakery to bring its beloved Onde Onde to more people in Hong Kong. This time, the beloved sweet is coming in three forms: Onde Onde Cake, Onde Onde Cupcake, and Onde Onde Cookie.

The traditional Onde Onde is getting a makeover in this new collection. Here, baked goods like cakes, cupcakes, and cookies meet pandan, coconut, and palm sugar (gula Melaka). The Onde Onde Cake (HK$658) is the highlight of the collection. Featuring a spongy, pandan-flavoured chiffon cake with grated coconut, coconut cream, and palm sugar, the cake has all the classic Indonesian flavours. At the top of the cake, you’ll find Onde Onde in its traditional form to complete the experience.

For smaller bites, the Onde Onde Cupcakes (HK$50 each) and Onde Onde Cookie (HK$50) are a must-try. The vegan Onde Onde Cupcakes are filled with freshly grated coconut and palm sugar, and then topped with a creamy coconut frosting. On the other hand, the Onde Onde Cookie combine the pandan flavour and irresistible chewy texture of the original sweet. Inside each cookie is mochi, grated coconut, and palm sugar, creating a unique texture.

How to get the Onde Onde collection

The Onde Onde collection by Rumah x The Cakery is available now until November 2. Customers can find the collection at all of The Cakery’s locations, including the new ifc store.
