Ever since it first opened in 1985, Torikizoku has established itself as a major mainstay in Japan’s casual dining scene. Currently, the well-loved izakaya chain has over 600 stores all over the nation, operated both directly and through franchisees.
What Japanese people love most about Torikizoku is its affordability and variety. As a city that loves all things Japanese, the franchise would be a welcome addition to Hong Kong’s culinary scene. Torikizoku offers the izakaya experience at a lower price point, allowing more people to enjoy it.
Signature offerings
The izakaya‘s pride and joy is its yakitori. It boasts over twenty types of grilled chicken skewers, priced uniformly at ¥328 (approximately HK$17) and made using domestic ingredients. Other types of meat are also available for customers to choose. Aside from skewers, the menu offers a wide range of dishes. Starting from sides like chicken karaage, salad, and even breaded camembert to mains like ramen or donburi, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
Of course, an izakaya wouldn’t be one without some alcohol. Diners can enjoy their food with an array of drinks on the side. Beers, highballs, and more are available, as well as non-alcoholic options.
