Chef Silvio Germann, winner of this year’s GaultMillau “Chef of the Year” title, is making his way to our city. In honour of Swiss Month, the chef is taking over Mandarin Grill + Bar on October 30–31. Want to savour a meal cooked by the “Chef of the Year” himself? Then head over to Mandarin Grill + Bar on October 30 and 31 to experience Chef Silvio Germann’s culinary mastery. The Consulate General of Switzerland is organising the event for Swiss Month to allow more Hong Kongers to experience Swiss cuisine. The chef will offer both lunch and dinner on the first day, and only lunch service on the second day. This exquisite experience begins at HK$988 for lunch and HK$2,180 for dinner.

While he’s in Hong Kong, the chef will prepare a specially curated multi-course menu for guests. Many of the courses feature signature dishes from his Restaurant Mammertsberg in Switzerland. Each dish is informed by his Swiss roots as well as experimental techniques and global influences. Expect dishes like turbot with artichoke and caviar as well as venison with celery and chestnut. There will also be inventive snacks like radish kimchi and pumpkin wrapped in chicory. Diners can look forward to an exciting gastronomical journey like no other.

More about the chef
Chef Silvio Germann’s career began while training under three-Michelin-starred Andreas Caminada. The senior chef appointed Germann to lead IGNIV at the Grand Resort Bad Ragaz. The restaurant earned two Michelin stars under Germann as well as 18 GaultMillau points, securing its reputation as one of Switzerland’s culinary hotspots.
In 2022, Germann took the helm at Mammertsberg and injected it with his passion for innovation and sustainability. Here, the chef highlights seasonal ingredients, many of which are grown in the on-site garden. Guests can watch his team do their magic with the open kitchen concept, creating a more personal and immersive experience. The restaurant would also go on to earn two Michelin stars and 18 GaultMillau points. From there, Germann would win the vote for the title of GaultMillau “Chef of the Year”.
