Get inked in the return of the annual Hong Kong tattoo convention this October

Hong Kong’s annual tattoo convention is making a return this 2024. The Hong Kong China International Tattoo Exhibition 2024 is coming back for its 8th edition. The event will be held at Wan Chai’s Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from October 4 to 6.

For three days, the Tattoo Exhibition 2024 will return to Hall 5G at HKCEC. Tattoo artists from all over the world will gather under one roof here to show off their work. Expect to see artists from Japan, Thailand, Serbia, and more during the event. For tattoo enthusiasts, it’s a valuable opportunity to connect with both local and international tattoo artists and get some new ink. Aside from that, visitors can also appreciate the art of inking and design in the Poster Marathon and Tattoo Competition.

Participating tattoo artists include Marko Stamenkovic from Serbia, Meow Meow from China, and Sajin from Korea among others. Local artists like Hana and Tuna will also be making an appearance at the convention. For the full line-up of artists, follow the Tattoo Exhibition 2024 Instagram account.

Poster Marathon

Kicking off the 2024 edition of the tattoo convention is the Poster Marathon. In collaboration with global artist agency 6VI, over 100 artists from more than 30 countries took part in the initiative. Each artist presents their own take on the themes “Tattoo Industry”, “Hong Kong Culture”, and “Skull”. The result is a stunning display of artistry, with each creator showing off their unique flair.

“3 NO” Installation

Continuing last year’s successful collaboration, 6VI presents the world’s largest global cross-border artists painting and refitting exhibition “3 NO”. The piece takes inspiration from the “three wise monkeys” in Buddhism, themed around the “three don’ts: don’t see, don’t hear, don’t speak”. The piece took two years of preparation, involving nearly 1,000 artists and art enthusiasts from over 40 countries, with ages ranging from 3 to 90 years old and covering more than 70 different art fields. The result is a collection of over 400 skull mask installations, each showcasing the artists’ perspectives, styles, and techniques depicting the battle between good and evil. After showing at the Hong Kong China International Tattoo Exhibition 2024, the work will tour globally.
