ToysRUs opens first Playful Living Concept Store in Asia for “Kidults”

ToysRUs has launched its first Playful Living Concept Store in Asia at K11 Art Mall in Tsim Sha Tui, Hong Kong. To celebrate the opening and spread positive energy, the store has invited a local fitness trainer and artist to introduce the characters Rumbbell and Jacrbell.

Distinguishing itself from regular colourful ToysRUs stores, this Playful Living Concept Store is decorated in natural wood with minimalist decorations. Stocked with classic and trendy toys, the store creates a peaceful and warm environment to bring shoppers back to their childhoods. Conceived under a “His and Her Home” concept, the store is divided into three zones: For Him, For Her, and Together.

For Him

This zone boasts the most desirable “Model Corner” for men. The corner features beloved toy figures from shows such as Gundam, Transformers, Marvel, Star Wars, Dragon Ball, and One Piece as well as the Tomica, Tarmac, Majorette, and Tiny franchises. Visitors are invited to hunt for rare finds and upgrade their displays with the constant rotation of figures here.

For Her

Girls don’t make decisions, they want it all! The “For Her” area is full of lovely and trendy items. The store places Sho-Chan, Chiikawa, the playful Fuggler, LuLu The Piggy, Care Bears, Mofusand, Foodie Dinosaur from Taiwan, Stitch, Lotso, Alien from Disney, and Tamagotchi in a home-setting store. Although they cannot bring all of them home, girls can enjoy a home-like environment stuffed with toys to visualize their childhood dreams.

Together

Even for adults, games play a crucial role in gatherings of family and friends. This area provides well-known Nintendo Switch games and anime-related products from Jujutsu Kaisen, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, SPYxFAMILY, and Haikyu!! for shoppers. Moreover, there is also an “I Love Hong Kong” themed area displaying unique items such as board games with the heart of Hong Kong.

Surprising collaboration with a local artist

The store invited local fitness trainer and artist Ryan Lee for its first wave of collaborations. Together, they co-launched Rumbbell, Jacrbell, exhibitions, and photo points to create a home of positivity and joy. In the future, the store is looking forward to cooperating with different designers to renew the store’s outlook constantly, offer a refreshed experience to customers, and bring vitality to the store.
