After an emotional and hard-hitting season 1, it is quite obvious for fans of The Judge from Hell to wonder if a season 2 of the Disney+ series is on the cards. Here’s everything we know about a possible second instalment of the supernatural Korean drama.
Directed by Park Jin-pyo, known for the hit 2015 romantic comedy Love Forecast, The Judge from Hell is led by Park Shin-hye and Kim Jae-yeong, who play protagonists Kang Bit-na and Daon, respectively.
Spoilers ahead!
For almost a month, the lead-up to the ending of the K-drama The Judge from Hell pondered what fate would have in store for lovers Kang Bit-na and Han Daon. In the last episode, viewers saw Bit-na successfully sending serial killer J (played by Kyu Han-lee) to Hell. Later, she made a deal with Bael (played by Shin Sung-rok) that she would only return to serve him in Hell if he allowed her three more years on earth. The show ended with Bael meeting Bit-na once again two years later, this time with a proposition from Lucifer — if Bit-na killed 10 sinners and sent them to Hell in the third year, she would be allowed to spend a lifetime with her lover Daon on earth.
Could The Judge from Hell season 2 happen?
So far, Disney Plus and the show’s makers have not revealed any official plan for The Judge from Hell to be renewed for season 2. However, with season 1 ending on a cliffhanger, fans seem hopeful of a second instalment of the fantasy K-drama.
One of the biggest revelations made in the last episode of the show was that demon Justitia, aka Kang Bit-na, was offered another mission by Lucifer. Through the 14-episode series, Bit-na, who was initially a ruthless and unjust judge, is shown to have evolved after meeting the compassionate detective Han Daon. But the ending of the last episode raised an interesting question — would Bit-na go back to her old cruel self and accept Lucifer’s offer?
The final scene of the series saw Bit-na speaking directly to the viewers and accepting the fact that she indeed was “a judge from Hell,” further increasing the possibilities of a season 2.
When can we expect The Judge from Hell season 2 to come out?
If a probable season 2 of The Judge from Hell follows a similar timeline as season 1, viewers could expect it to premiere in the second half of 2025.
The Judge from Hell is now available to stream on Disney Plus.
