Mumbaikars and Bangaloreans are in for a musical treat this October 2024 as the K-wave Festival makes a comeback this year. A celebration of K-pop, cuisine and culture, the K-wave Festival is designed to showcase the growing influence of Korean culture in India. Organised by Skillbox, the Korean festival highlights the ever-increasing popularity of Korean trends and traditions in the country.

It is here that the vibrant world of K-pop intersects with global diversity. You get to experience the fusion of celebrated K-pop artists and local talents as they come together. Embark on a cultural journey with the K-wave Festival, which aims to unite people through the universal language of music.

The first edition of the festival was held in 2023 and saw performances from K-pop artists like Kim Woojin and X:IN. This year, Hyolyn is ready to hit the stage in India! The former SISTAR member will be headlining the K-Wave Festival. What’s more? EXO’s Suho will also join Hyolyn.

The organisers of the festival recently shared the news on their official social media platforms. While this will be Hyolyn’s second appearance after her special cameo at the K-pop India Contest in 2021, this will be Suho’s first performance in the country. The K-pop idols are set to perform in Mumbai on October 18 and Bangalore on October 20.

More about Kpop star, Hyolyn

Hyolyn made her debut as a star of the K-pop band SISTAR in 2010. Formed by Starship Entertainment, the girl group included Hyolyn, Bora, Soyou, and Dasom. SISTAR saw a string of hits during its stint in the musical world. Tracks such as “Touch My Body,” “I Like That,” and “Shake It,” are some of the popular numbers by the K-pop band.” The group disbanded in 2017. However, it reunited in 2022 and the members performed several of their popular tracks.

Post this October concert, Hyolyn will gear up for her 2024 Enchanted Halloween US tour, which will begin on 1 November 2024 in Los Angeles. According to several reports, she also has shows lined up in Dallas and Seattle.

What’s the work front for EXO’s Suho?

Thirty-three-year-old Suho debuted in 2012 with the K-pop boy band EXO. He started his solo journey in 2020 with Self-Portrait. The K-pop vocalist has also acted in several dramas and movies. His projects include The Universe’s Star, Rich Man, Middle School Girl A, How Are U Bread and Behind Your Touch.
