Louis Vuitton names <em>Goblin</em> and <em>Squid Game</em> actor Gong Yoo as House Ambassador

South Korean actor Gong Yoo of Goblin and Squid Game fame is the latest star to join Louis Vuitton as a House Ambassador.

After attending the Louis Vuitton Men’s Spring/Summer 2025 show in Paris Fashion Week, Gong Yoo has just been announced as the brand’s latest House Ambassador. Previously, the actor has worked together with the House on the global campaign for the LV Tambour Horizon watch. He also attended the opening of the Louis Vuitton Maison Seoul boutique in 2019.

Gong Yoo joins Louis Vuitton as its latest House Ambassador

The Maison revealed the actor as its next House Ambassador on June 25. “Louis Vuitton is proud to announce esteemed South Korean actor Gong Yoo as its latest House Ambassador,” the brand writes in a press release. “With a celebrated career that has captivated audiences worldwide, Gong Yoo exemplifies the spirit of Louis Vuitton with his commitment to excellence and innovation in his craft.”

The announcement came with a short video by Louis Vuitton. It featured the 44-year-old while he was in Paris to attend the Men’s Spring/Summer 2025 show. In the video, he reflected on his long acting career, his connection to the House, and his thoughts on Pharrell’s work and direction. View the video below.

An icon in the Korean film industry

Born Gong Ji-cheol, Gong Yoo has been active in the Korean film industry for more than two decades. His first breakthrough role came in 2007 as the star in the television drama Coffee Prince. Since then, he has gone on to play in numerous films and television series. Other notable roles include the titular character in Goblin or Guardian: The Lonely and Great God, the recruiter salesman in Squid Game. He was also in Train to Busan as Seok-woo.

Throughout the years, Gong Yoo has won many awards and accolades. For his role in Goblin, he won the “Best Actor — Television” from the Baeksang Arts Awards and other award shows. In 2016, he received the “Grand Prize (Daesang)” from the Korea Film Actors Association Awards for A Man and a Woman. Besides his acting, he has also received recognition for his fashion style and modelling.
