Return to Middle-Earth on the big screen when The Lord of the Rings comes back to theatres this November here in Thailand.
It’s hard to believe that it’s been 23 years since the first of the Lord of the Rings movies came out. Even all these years later, the films—and of course, Tolkien’s original books—continue to resonate with lifelong fans and produce new ones. There are also a number of new projects to enjoy set within Middle-Earth, from Prime Video’s ongoing Rings of Power series, the upcoming War of the Rohirrim animated movie, and the live-action movies from Andy Serkis that are currently in development.
But fans here in Thailand are in for a treat. As great as it is to be able to enjoy the Peter Jackson films at home, The Lord of the Rings trilogy is making a comeback to Thai theatres this November.

The Lord of the Rings trilogy is coming back to theatres in Thailand this November
Before 2001, there were only two animated adaptations of Tolkien’s works: The Lord of the Rings in 1978 and the 1980 TV special The Return of the King. There were other unlicensed live-action adaptations that followed, but it wasn’t until 2001 when Peter Jackson adapted The Fellowship of the Ring that fans felt like they finally got their definitive adaptation. Impressively, Jackson adapted the two following books and released them in the next two years: The Two Towers in 2002 and The Return of the King in 2003.
Ever since the conclusion of the film trilogy, Jackson has directed three prequels based on The Hobbit and Prime Video has released two seasons of The Rings of Power, a series that recounts how Sauron forged the nineteen rings and the legendary One Ring. More films are in the works from Andy Serkis while an animated film, The War of the Rohirrim, is set to be released next month.
Many fans now just watch the original trilogy of films on streaming services, but this month of November, fans here in Thailand are in for a treat. The Lord of the Rings trilogy is coming back to Major Cineplex theatres, allowing fans a chance to rewatch the Battle of Helm’s Deep, Frodo and Sam’s journey to Mount Doom, and Gandalf facing off against the Balrog in all its cinematic glory on the big screen.
The Fellowship of the Ring will be shown on November 14, followed by The Two Towers on November 21, and then The Return of the King on November 28 in Major Cineplex theaters.
