After 12 years in Wan Chai, 22 Ships by Chef Antonio Oviedo is relocating to PMQ in Central this September. The last date of service in the original location is scheduled for August 21.
The tapas bar has been a beloved neighbourhood establishment in Wan Chai for the past 12 years. Previously in 2020, the restaurant had already undergone a revamp under Chef Antonio. Now, 22 Ships is ready to ring in a new chapter with its relocation to PMQ. For those who want to visit before their last day, make sure to come before August 21. Afterwards, customers can dine at the new PMQ location after the soft opening on September 6.
Last chance to dine at the iconic location
Over the years, the restaurant has established itself as a neighbourhood favourite. It’s known for serving authentic Spanish tapas in the spirit of social sharing. It also takes its name from its address, 22 Ship Street. The next few weeks will be the last chance for diners to savour 22 Ships’ signature dishes in the original address where it all started.
Highlights from the menu include its signature Uni & Rusa Toast (HK$288/pc), Chorizo Croquetas (HK$98/2pc), and Tortilla & Sobrasada (HK$168). For heartier fare, get the XXL Carabineros Paella (HK$1,198), the Manchego Lamb Shoulder (HK$738), or the Cochinillo Segovian Roasted Suckling Pig (HK$438/quarter). Don’t forget to get some dessert with Chef Antonio’s signature Burnt Basque Cheesecake (HK$98) and Flan de la Casa Vanilla (HK$89).

Chef Antonio and his team will bring the same energy and passion to the brand-new space. The upcoming 22 Ships at PMQ Central will feature a rustic and retro aesthetic. Bask in the cool and relaxed ambience while sharing some tapas and drinks with company. Integrated bodega tables facilitate the communal dining experience that lies at the heart of Spanish tapas culture. Look forward to seeing and dining in the new location starting from September 6.
