Days after its release in the US, stories of Apple Vision Pro users getting locked out of their devices and told by Support to reset them at the Apple Store are spreading online.
If you’re locked out of your Apple Vision Pro, whether you forgot your password or entered the wrong one too many times, there’s currently no way to reset it yourself. Customers who have contacted Apple Support or the company’s discussion forum were told to go back to the Apple Store they bought the device from or mail it in to be reset.

So far, the only way to reset it is to have the Apple Store staff attach a Developer Strap (which costs US$300 or approximately HK$2.3k and is only sold to Apple developers) to connect the Vision Pro to a computer and then do it through there. Even then, some users are sharing stories that Apple Store staff also struggled with the process and were caught off guard by the situation.
Unsurprisingly, people are quite baffled that such a problem is occurring for a highly-anticipated device that costs US$3,499 (approximately HK$27.3k). A password reset is a common feature that almost all devices have on release, so the fact that this has been overlooked by Apple has people shaking their heads.
Currently, Apple has not yet stated whether or not it will be fixing this issue in a future software update. Hopefully, by the time the Apple Vision Pro sees its global release, this problem will have already been solved.
