Here’s your guide to easily deleting Facebook posts in bulk (2024)

When you talk about social media in today’s day and age, Facebook has become an archaic term. What a decade ago was the IT platform to satiate our social hunger, is now filled with a pile of inactive profiles with photos that are downright cringe to witness. If you’re also looking to undergo a social media cleanup,  let’s take you through an easy guide on how to delete Facebook posts in bulk.

If you don’t want a potential date, an employer or your gossip-obsessed relatives to dig into your whereabouts from years ago, it might be time to get rid of the ageing memes and ‘shawty’ photos sitting embarrassingly on your feed. You can bulk delete your Facebook posts on both the web browser and mobile app. Here’s how to go about it.

Thanks to Facebook’s ‘Manage Posts’ section, you can now delete multiple posts all at once based on the date, who posted them, their visibility and the ones you’re tagged in. Follow these steps:

  • On the Facebook app, head to your profile and then select the three dots appearing next to ‘Edit Profile’.
  • Select ‘Activity log’ and tap ‘Your Facebook activity’ option.
  • From here, go to the ‘Manage posts’ option and select the ‘Filters’ button appearing on the top right. Adjust it based on various categories of posts or date.
  • Tick the checkbox against each post and then select the ‘Recycle bin’ or ‘Archive’ option based on what you want to do.
  • Confirm the deletion and the posts will go to your recycle bin. Facebook gives you a 30-day window to retrieve the deleted posts before they’re removed permanently.
