This permanent exhibition will open on September 30, 2024, turning rice terraces and forests into stunning digital art, offering visitors a unique nighttime journey bound to strike curiosity and emotion.

Hidden Traces of Rice Terraces: Key details of teamLab’s nighttime symphony of light and nature

Transforming nature into art, the Hidden Traces of Rice Terraces is teamLab’s latest art installation space focusing on digital technology, art, and natural surroundings. This night forest museum explores how landscapes can be used to create spaces that transcend the way people think about the continuity of time. Explore the “Resonating Tree” to be surrounded by towering trees draped in vibrant colours and dabble in “Spatial Calligraphy in the Forest”, where the forest becomes the canvas for digitised movement.

Address: Izura Yukoku Onden Ato Onsen, 2132 Otsumachi, Kitaibaraki-shi, Ibaraki, Japan. Check the Google Maps location.

Timings: Open 6 pm to 10 pm from September 30 to October 25; 5:30 pm to 10 pm from October 26 to 30. Closed on October 7 and the first Tuesday of every month from November onwards.

Ticket price: JPY 2,200 (approximately HKD 119) for adults; JPY 800 (approximately HKD 43) for children (primary and secondary school); and free for preschool children.

You will be charged JPY 200 (HKD 10. 6) extra if you purchase tickets on location.
