Good news for Hong Kong commuters. The MTR Corporation has added a total of 112 additional weekly train trips to three of its rail lines. So, expect more train service at the East Rail, Tseung Kwan O, and Tuen Ma Lines from August 31. Plus, services on the East Rail Line to and from Lok Ma Chau and Lo Wu stations have also increased. They are available during specific periods on weekdays, weekends, and public holidays.
The frequency of trains to and from Lo Wu station increased to 8.6 minutes. Meanwhile, trains to Lo Wu station now run within 5 to 5.6 minutes. This comes as the MTR strive to enhance the service experience for passengers especially as the new school year commences. Keep reading to find out more details.
Commuting gets easier as MTR adds 112 additional train trips to three rail lines
For the Tseung Kwan O Line, there are now more train services between Po Lam and North Point stations every Saturday night. The interval increased from five minutes to every 4.5 minutes.
Meanwhile, there are more train services between Lohas Park and Tiu Keung Leng stations, which run at intervals of nine minutes. Furthermore, the Tuen Ma Line also sees more trains during weekday evenings with departures available every 3.2 minutes from Nam Cheong to Tuen Mun.

MTR launches new weekday-only light rail route
Other than increasing the frequency of train trips within its three rail lines, the MTR also launched a new special light rail route. The new Light Rail Route 720 is only available on weekdays and departs at 7:46 am.
The special morning trip serves commuters such as students, residents workers travelling between Tuen Mun and Tin Shui Wai. It leaves Siu Hong and passes through Lam Tei, Nai Wai, Chung Uk Tsuen, Hung Shui Kiu, Hang Mei Tsuen, Tin Yiu, Locwood, Tin Shui, and Chestwood stops to TIn Wing stop. The route is only available on weekdays and does not run on weekends and public holidays.
