What is The Empress of Ayodhaya about?
The Netflix series revolves around a woman named Jinda. She’s the daughter of the Lord of Lopburi whose family has a claim to the throne. As such, Jinda becomes one of the king’s concubines in an effort for her to reclaim it. Aside from having to contend with other concubines for the title of Queen Consort, she also must set aside her feelings for the man she actually loves. It’s a classic medieval drama filled with intrigue and romance.
Who is in the cast of The Empress of Ayodhaya?
Davika Hoorne plays Jinda, the woman who must set aside her personal desires to pursue her “destiny”. Theerapat Sajakul plays the King Chairacha who Jinda is trying to win over. Thanapat Kawila plays the man Jinda actually loves, Wamon, while Songsit Roongnophakunsri plays her father.
When will The Empress of Ayodhaya be released?
Six episodes of the show are already out. Two more episodes are set to be released next week, and the last episode will drop on November 27.
What have the critics been saying about the show?
There are not a lot of reviews out there for the show though it currently has a 4/10 rating on IMDB. However, it did make the rounds online when it was revealed that a cat that convulsed and retched in the show was administered real anaesthesia. According to AsiaOne, Sant Srikaewlaw later posted proof online that the cat was alive and was well taken care of during the shoot despite what seemed to have happened.
