SAii Laguna Phuket’s redesign blends traditional Thai culture with modern touches

SAii Laguna Phuket has finally taken the covering to its facade for the newest chapter of the beachside property.

Blending traditional Thai design with modern details and innovation, this new look is part of S Hotels and Resorts PCL’s larger plans for SAii Resorts to distinguish itself as the go-to free-spirited lifestyle brand for travellers.

Putting 30 years of experience into the new look, the renovations draw inspiration from traditional Thai lagoon houses and employ preserved timberwork which can be found at the reception, dining areas, and even some of the accents in the new rooms.

“With this renovation, we wanted our guests to experience the legacy of SAii Laguna Phuket by incorporating elements of the past into the present. The design honours the original Thai lagoon house style while weaving in modern aesthetics through innovative materials and cutting-edge technology,” said Bart Callens, Cluster General Manager at SAii Laguna Phuket and SAii Phi Phi Island Village.

Updated amenities include a new modular Twin/King configuration in each room, international and USB-C charging points, and a fully digitalised room service system. Modern touches in the property include new open floor plans, freestanding bathtubs, and new dining options like the bean/Co counter bar offering freshly brewed coffee and delectable baked goods during the day and cocktails in the evenings.

The renovation enhances not only the aesthetics but also the overall guest journey. Rooms feature open floor plans with freestanding bathtubs, offering panoramic views from anywhere in the room, including the bathrooms. The public spaces are thoughtfully designed for relaxation, with the bean/Co counter bar offering freshly brewed coffee and delectable baked goods during the day and transforming into a vibrant cocktail bar in the evenings. The Terra & Mar restaurant also has new all-day dining options that use fresh local ingredients and authentic cooking techniques.

Indulge in Thai stretching, deep tissue massage, and a heated sand compress to ease tension.
