Aesop is preparing to launch a new fragrance.
Named Virēre, the Latin word for “lush” or “lively,” this new scent is the creation between Aesop and frequent fragrance collaborator Barnabé Fillion. Some of the key scenes this new fragrance explores are past memories of Mediterranean vacations and the freshness experienced when cycling through orchards. As the name suggests, Virēre has a light, summery nose, and its green packaging points to nature.
The main ingredients used are figs and green tea combined with top notes of galbanum and petitgrain and rounded off with bergamot. The green tea is mixed with mastic and pink pepper to evoke another memory of brewing fresh fig tea with the steam rising to meet your nose. Virēre ends with base notes of cedar, green yerba mate, hay, and minerals.
The official unveiling will take place at TENOHA in Daikanyama. Tokyo on August 24 where the fragrance itself will begin selling at Aesop locations on September 2 for roughly HKD$1,100 for a 50ml bottle.
For those interested in more new products from Aesop, they have recently released a new Eleos aromatique hand balm.
Aesop’s Eleos Aromatique Hand Balm nurtures and softens via a considered combination of humectants alongside emollient butters and oils. This formulation carries aromas of Cedar Atlas, Patchouli and Clove Bud essential oils.
Eleos Aromatique Hand Balm is available in a 75mL recycled aluminium tube, and a 500mL recycled PET bottle with pump.
