After dropping VULTURES 1 which brought us tracks including “Carnival” and “Back To Me” in February, Ye and Ty Dolla $ign are now gearing up to release volume two of the VULTURES trilogy.
VULTURES 2 was originally scheduled to roll out on March 8 with a number of listening sessions planned in cities across the United States. However, the events were ultimately canceled as Ye and Ty Dolla $ign faced backlash from playing the tracks but not hopping on the mic at their highly-anticipated Rolling Loud performance. A concert scheduled for Egypt at the Saqqara Pyramids on April 20 was also postponed.
After months of silence, Ty Dolla $ign took to Instagram to announce a listening experience in South Korea on August 23. Sources including Rolling Stone Korea report that the show is expected to be held at Goyang Stadium, situated approximately 30km from Seoul’s city centre. While yet to be confirmed, a second show is reportedly scheduled in Taiwan on August 25 as part of a larger Asia tour.
“We got all the songs. Basically, it’s just like, ‘How can we get it there? How can we go bigger than the first album?’ ” Ty told Billboard in an interview in June. “Certain people will probably expect you to just do the same exact sound. But that sound’s already out.”
Stay tuned as more details emerge in the coming weeks.
