Céline Dion has arrived in Paris!
Said to be in the city for the Olympic Games, and rumoured to be performing for the opening ceremony this Friday, the Charlemagne, Quebec native was spotted outside the Royal Monceau Hotel yesterday.
Diagnosed with the autoimmune neurological disorder, stiff-person syndrome, Dion has not performed on stage since her 2019 show in London. At 56 years old, Dion officially revealed her illness back in 2022 when she explained how it has affected her life. She has also recently been brought back under the spotlight thanks to the I AM CELINE DION documentary released last month that detailed her journey.
Dion is on a very select list of artists who have reached $1 billion in tour revenue, and so it’s only natural that she would be compensated handsomely if she were to perform at the Olympics. Rumours are even floating around that she collected 2 million USD to perform one song.
Even if she doesn’t perform, it is great to see her smiling and greeting her fans in the French capital. Fans will have to wait two more days to see if the rumours are true.
