From fantasy romances to historical K-dramas and black comedies, here’s a list of the best upcoming K-drama titles that will hit your screens in September 2024.
While August 2024 made the metric for K-dramas rise with shows like Love Next Door, leading the lot in September 2024 is the Park Shin-hye starrer K-drama The Judge From Hell. Deemed as the “Courtroom drama with a demonic twist” by Disney+, the 14-episode series is directed by Park Jin-pyo, known for the hit romantic comedy Love Forecast (2015).
Meanwhile, popular actors Kim Dong-wook and Park Ji-hwan will draw star power to the upcoming Disney+ investigative comedy-drama Seoul Busters. According to the OTT platform, the series will tell “the story of the nation’s last-ranked powerful squad in the county and the elite Violent Crime Team leader meet to become the best team.” The upcoming K-drama is all set to premiere on Disney+ Hotstar on 11 September 2024.
Additionally, director Moon Sung-hyun, known for the highest-grossing Korean films The King’s Case Note (2017) and Seoul Vibe (2022), will make his small-screen directorial debut with What Comes After Love. One of the highly anticipated romantic K-dramas to release in September 2024, the love story is based on the 2005 novel Things That Come After Love by Korean novelist Gong Ji -young and Japanese novelist Hitonari Tsuji.
What Comes After Love stars popular Japanese actor-model Kentaro Sakaguchi and K-drama actor Lee Se-young in leading roles and is slated to release on 27 September 2024.
