Ryan Reynolds has just declared the “War of the Popcorn Buckets” for his upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine film.
Starring both Reynolds as Deadpool and Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, the comment is directed at the recent viral sensation of the popcorn bucket for Dune 2 that resembled a masturbatory aid device.

Keeping with Kevin Feige’s pledge for a “crude and rude” popcorn bucket for the new Marvel Studios film, this new design goes the extra mile so there’s no confusion on the assignment. In the teaser video, we see a full head sculpt of the comic version of Wolverine with his mouth wide open.
Complete with tongue detail, the video goes on the show kernels falling into the large opening, Deadpool’s gloves caressing the face, and then a final shot of hot butter dripping down the face.
Reynolds captioned his post on X with, “Years from now they will look back at 2024 as the year the War of the Popcorn Buckets began.” A nice little detail can be found on the side where “Designed by Deadpool” can be found.
This Deadpool popcorn bucket is set to release stateside with the film’s premiere in July. If it is anything like the Dune 2 popcorn bucket, this will sell out and probably find its way on eBay. Check out the popcorn bucket in the video above.
