Inside BTS rapper Suga’s luxury watch collection

Given their status as the wealthiest K-pop group globally, it’s no wonder that BTS members possess luxurious assets that few can afford. From extravagant mansions to private jets, they indulge in almost every luxury that money can provide. Here’s a closer look at BTS Suga’s luxury watch collection.

Even then, whenever we talk of the boy band’s wealth, we cannot help but refer to their unmatched fashion sense and all the elegant accessories they carry. The way each of them — RM, Jin, Suga, Jimin, V, J-Hope and Jungkook — dress makes the ARMY members (a term coined for BTS’ official fanbase) obsess over them a little more every time.

Among the accessories, people are most interested in the collection of watches of the BTS members. According to several sources, the estimated worth of their collective ensemble of timepieces is a whopping USD 1 million. Now that’s a lot of money to carry on one’s wrist!

Like the rest of his band members, Min Yoon-gi — popularly known as Suga and Agust D — has a penchant for elegant luxury watches. While he is known to reap the benefits of being a rich pop culture figure, the Korean rapper is also an ardent philanthropist. Time and again, he has donated to children’s charities.

As the world celebrates BTS and stays hooked to their songs, we turn our attention to Suga and take a moment to marvel at his impeccable collection of watches whilst taking a look at their prices.

Curious about the BTS rapper’s luxury watch pieces? Here’s a peek at Suga’s timepiece collection

Price: USD 40,590

The costliest watch in Suga’s collection, the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Self-Winding Automatic is as timeless as the rapper himself. While the celebrated Royal Oak lineup comes in a myriad of shapes, shades and sizes, the one owned by the Korean rapper sports a 37-millimetre dial with rectangular markers in place of Roman or Arabic numerals.

The timepiece, with its characteristic octagonal bezel and integrated bracelet made of industrial steel, is a bold mark of luxury. Under the hood, the watch comes with Audemars Piguet’s in-house calibre 5900, which is a self-winding automatic movement. Each winding of the watch offers a power reserve of up to 60 hours.

In terms of durability, the watch is water resistant up to 50 metres. Additionally, the silver-toned “Grande Tapisserie” dial is protected by a scratchproof sapphire crystal.

Price: USD 530

Like his fellow band member Jungkook, Suga has also featured in Samsung’s advertisements, particularly in the Korean market. The tech brand gave the Korean rapper a Galaxy Watch 6.

Offering peak user experience, the Galaxy Watch 6 was touted by many as the ‘best smartwatch money can buy’ at the time of its release. The 47-millimetre dial comes with a 1.5-inch AMOLED display. The watch houses Samsung’s in-house Exynos W930 chipset and runs on One UI 5 Watch based on Google’s Wear OS 4. It comes with a 2 GB RAM and 16 GB of internal storage.

Fitted with all the fitness and health-monitoring sensors such as the BioActive Sensor (for measuring heart rate and electrical heart signal), Temperature sensor and Accelerometer (among others), the Galaxy Watch 6 is an industry-leading smartwatch. To top it off, it comes with a big 425 mAh battery and a comfortable silicon strap.

Casio G-Shock Classic GA-110GB-1A

Price: USD 165

Rounding off Suga’s watch collection is the timeless Casio G-Shock Classic GA-110GB-1A. Known for its durability and endurance, the G-Shock series is preferred by many for hardcore sports as a performance watch.

Like many in the G-Shock lineup, the body of this particular variant is made of resin. The band, too, is made of resin, which enables the watch to be shock-resistant. The watch is powered by a quartz movement, which means that it runs on a battery instead of the winding movements found in most high-end analogue luxury watches. And that is not a bad thing — on the contrary, quartz movement is known to offer better precision in timekeeping when compared to its mechanical counterparts.

The battery of the watch has an average life of two years. The dial is protected by scratchproof mineral glass. In addition. the watch is water resistant up to 200 metres. This timepiece, which sports a black and gold dual-tone colour scheme, is ideal for a funky yet dapper look.
