The esoteric nature of watch collecting brings with it people from all walks of life. The common thread in the watch-collecting community is the passion for these little time-keeping machines on the wrist. In our watch collecting series L/R WRIST, we explore both wrists and what type of jewellery is paired on the other arm… and sometimes it ends up being two watches!
Our newest episode takes us to the playful and inventive world of Nadine Ghosn and her fine jewellery. While our first video with the designer explored the many layers of her prized Veggie Burger Ring, this episode of L/R WRIST explores her full stack of new accessories on her right wrist and her insane sapphire-set Audemars Piguet Royal Oak watch.
On the jewellery side, we get a first look at some of the new colors coming out for her childhood-inspired pen, pencil, and crayon creation. Stacked on the precious metal writing accouterments, the Lifecycle Pavée Bike Chain Bracelet with its ingenious diamond setting is layered with colourful stones.
The other wrist sees a timepiece that is sure to be on several watch enthusiasts’ grail lists. On her left wrist is a heavy hitter — the Double Balance Wheel Openworked Audemars Piguet Royal Oak in frosted rose gold with a rainbow-sapphire bezel. This 37mm watch was made for Ghosn as it exhibits a high level of technical expertise (much like her jewellery), it is colourful, and it is insanely eye-catching. This watch sits in a tier of luxury above most watches yet it somehow remains playful — there is not other watch I think of when I picture Nadine Ghosn.
