Giannis Antetokounmpo has just unveiled his first co-designed signature watch with Breitling.
Created in two variations, one in 40-mm steel Chronomat GMT and a 42-mm gold Chronomat B01 Chronograph, each watch was crafted to represent the 6’11” “Greek Freak” and his journey from Athens to the Milwaukee Bucks.
“Giannis has an incredible personal style and sense of self that we knew we had to capture in a timepiece,” says Georges Kern, CEO of Breitling. “And so, our longstanding ambassador became a collaborator who not only brought his aesthetic to the project but also his indominable spirit.”
Limited to 1,750 examples, the steel Chronomat GMT sees a bold green dial with details like a “GA” second hand, raised rider tabs at the 15-minute marks, and Antetokounmpo’s signature at the caseback.
The 42-mm gold Chronomat B01 Chronograph raises the bar with its 18 k red gold construction and Breitling Manufacture Caliber 01 movement with a golden rotor. This version is limited to 250 pieces and is available in the choice of a green rubber Rouleaux strap or an 18k red gold bracelet.
“There’s a video of the moment I first unboxed the chronograph,” says Antetokounmpo. “My face says it all; I was blown away to see it come to life. I’m grateful to Breitling for the chance to co-design these watches and grateful to everyone who takes one home. My heart went into them.”
Each watch comes in special-edition Giannis Antetokounmpo x Breitling packaging along with a note from Giannis Antetokounmpo himself. As for what’s currently on Antetokounmpo’s wrist, the NBA star was gifted a one-of-one Chronomat B01 that sees golden numerals in Arabic, a white inner bezel, and white contrasting chronograph counters against a green dial.
These watches are available now over at Breitling where the 40-mm steel Chronomat GMT retails for HKD 46,900 and the 42-mm gold Chronomat B01 Chronograph is priced at HKD 296,100.
