Mugler and Gentle Monster unveil bug-eyed sunglasses

After crafting the fluffy and fantastical world of Jentle Salon with BLACKPINK‘s Jennie, GENTLE MONSTER takes it to the opposite extreme, unveiling sharp and animalistic frames in collaboration with Mugler.

The upcoming sunglasses collection was inspired by Mugler’s “FOURMIS” eyewear introduced as part of the Maison’s Fall/Winter 1997 “LES INSECTES” haute couture collection. Two styles, Spiral 01 and Spiral 02, are introduced in three colourways each. Featuring wide goggle-shaped lenses and Mugler’s signature Spiral on the top and sides of the frame, Spiral 01 is a “deformation test” of the Stygiomedusa, a giant deep-sea jellyfish.

Spiral 02 is a minimalistic, more everyday take on Spiral 01 featuring a wide goggle shape, metallic chrome finishing on a silver TR frame, and embossed line details. Keeping with the themes, the frames arrive in a coccoon-shaped leather carrying case.
