Hublot and Takashi Murakami have just introduced their second version of the MP-15.
No with added colour, the new version between the “Superflat” Japanese artist and Hublot arrives as the MP-15 Takashi Murakami Tourbillon Sapphire Rainbow. As the name suggests, the transparent sapphire petals have now been fitted with colorful gemstones.
Sized at 42mm, the watch maintains the “smiling flower” motif where 12 titanium petals are set with 444 coloured gems ranging from rubies and pink, blue, yellow, and orange sapphires. Amethysts, Blue Topazes, and Tsavorites complete the range of stones for a rainbow effect. At the center of the smiling flower is the HUB9015 calibre that features a central flying tourbillon. This movement packs 120 hours of power reserve thanks to its twin barrels.
Tying this together is the transparent strap that is decorated with Takashi Murakami’s signature flower logo. The deployant buckle itself is made from Sapphire crystal and Titanium.
As with past artist collaborations, Hublot and Takashi Murakami are keeping this one quite exclusive with just 2o pieces and upon request. As Hublot puts it, this watch is “complex, brilliant, and totally kawaii.”
